Default Cars Overheating

alright. so i just did a motor swap and got a diagnostic and ****. everything was good. but then i start driving and my car voerheats like a mother. so i replace thermo , brand new radiator. and putcoolant in. i drive and the coolant is boiling into the overfill. after my car is off. for like a minute or two. my rad is 170 degrees. and my head is 250 degrees. my fan kicks on. and i drove ithome from the shop and it burned like all that coolant. so im wondering if anyone thinks it could be the head gasket. im not smoking white. but a shop said i was leaking compression into the coolant system. any help would be cool. im getting my head re milled and a valve job and ill have it on tuesday and i want to have this narrowed before then.

Drain the oil and see if it's green. Sounds like the head gasket.

hows the water pump? check the pressure and temp in your upper and lower radiator hoses. if top hose is hot and hard and bottom is more cool and soft your water pump could have took a **** on you. also check the belt tensions. if your loosing coolant, pop your valve cover off and check for oil/water mixture. looks like creamy muddy poo. if so, head gasket, or posible coolant leaking through valve seals.
