Default Doing a compression test..some Qs

How many times do you crank it over? Ive heard 6 times, but a mechanic told me until the needle stops moving

most people do it 5 revolutions, but until the needle stops moving is fine also it is almost right around that amount of revolutions that the needle does stop moving or will come very close to not moving. As long as you use the same cranking method for all cylinders I think that is more important. I think you will find that after 5-6 revolutions the needle will not increase any more. Just be consistent.

Yeah thats what I do crank until it stops moving on all cylinders, when your doing the test by yourself its hard to determine a revolution.

when i did mine, the first 3 were good but when i did #4 there was a loud knock let it was hitting something. what does this mean?? the car runs fine

I guess....The only thing i can hear is the starter.

But all my compresion numbers are

300 psi in all cylinders. Its probably higher but the tester only goes to 300 psi.
