I think this question gets asked 346987 times a week.
Service bulletin is 06-052 , your car must fall within the VIN range (.......6H700001- ......6H707606), if its after the range your ECU has already been "reflashed" from the factory so you have NOTHING to worry about. Your CEL doesnt have to be on, and most likely wont be on even if you need the reflash.
Defect code is 03217
Symptom code is 09114
Its a simple update performed via the HDS tablet and takes about 10 mintues to complete
Many people out of the VIN range still think they need it but they dont. You may experience similar symptoms with revhang/bucking but give the ECU some time to learn your driving and it will all smooth out. The first gear bucking complaint is only an issue if the car is started cold and driven right away. The ECU is trying to keep the rev's high to get the car to normal operating temp ASAP to avoid damage... completley normal tho. also any drive by wire setup has some sort of revhang/lag, again nothing to be concerned about

The bucking is a pain in the *** though, if youve experienced it, you dont like it. It is avoidable by being very careful not to adjust your foot AT ALL once you press the gas initially... but if you do any sort of decel/accel after that first depress... buck buck buck buck.
got the reflash yesterday, the service consultant told me that it helps the problem, but doesnt totaly eliminate the problem, but i did notice a much smoother transitioin when your changing gears after it was reprogramed
Called my local dealer to get mine reflashed since I do fall in teh VIN range. They told me we will see if we have to do things that drastic. He told me that he could not find any recalls or anything in his computer. So I guess friday when I take the car in for the e-brake not working, I'll have to beat the service guy in the head and have them update there computer. Oh well. I guess it will be worth it.
