Good Battery for our EF
I am in the market for a good battery for my 91 Civic HB Si. So far checking out our local Autoparts like Checkers, they carry only 1 size and 1 type of battery for our car. What battery you guys put in your EF? The ones in Checker is kinda cheap looking and cheap too. I want a good battery, price is not an option. Like they say, you get what you pay for. Any suggestions?
i want to get the buddy club one. its super small and not crazy amounts of money imo. you can get one here at jhpusa.com for 150.00

the odyssey pc680 also comes in a generic non-automotive version (different terminals) for much much cheaper...i think i got it for $35...spent 4 bucks on hardware to connect it to my terminals and have been using it for 2 years like that...i'll try to find a link to it

eda6, will that optima fit the battery tray? It looks small enough, just want to make sure.</TD></TR></TABLE>
dimensions are 8" tall, 9.25" long, 5" wide and weighs 26 lb 12 oz.
it fit in the tray after making a custom tie down. had to mount my air filter directly to the tb because the tie down bolts rubbed on the intake arm. ended up relocating it to the rear.

another vote for the Optima Yellowtop 51R. ("R" signifies a reverse terminal alignment from a standard group 51)
fits in the stock tray with the stock hold-down in mine.
most USDM EF's came with a group 51, btw. some non-A/C models got a 51R from the factory - but not all of them. nice thing about a 51R is that it moves the positive post away from any shiny metal intake piping you may have.
92-up got 51R batteries though, so they are actually more available - in my experience - than a "normal" group 51.
