So that is the setup that a friend is having problem with his mini-me swap. The car is a 95 dx d15, has a y8 head, and a d15b cam. I know that z6/d15b are diferent than y8 when it comes to timing. Just tryiing to figure what kind of cam gear he needs? He has tried to use the z6 gear and it does not start? Does he need a y8 gear even though the cam is like the z6?

im not exactly sure.. but i dont think u should be using the d15 cam in the y8 head.. try getting a y8 cam or a aftermarket cam and see if anything happens..

 

d15b cam is from a jdm sohc vtec motor. Best factory cam for the single and it is what he has.
