Turn signals no worky
neither of them work
i looked at the bulbs and the filaments look good, is there an easy way to test them?
not sure on the hazards, i don't think they work

i'm giving away my complete lack of expertise, but i will try that with the multimeter, maybe it is just a bulb, i guess after 197,000 miles a bulb could burn out
My initial thought since both aren't working is the turnsignal switch. The arm you push up and down to turn the signals on.
I would first try checking the voltage going to the bulb sockets though.

thanks for the help, it turns out the bulbs were fine but the 15 amp hazards fuse (under the hood) blew, so i replaced it with a spare one from under the dash and now they work fine, since the car is so old i'm not going to worry about why the fuse blew

Well, replacing the fuse worked for exactly 2 months, the fuse burned out again so I put a new one in and it burned out as soon as I hit the turn signal. I tried one more time just to be sure and the same thing happened.
How do you check for a short?
Or what else could be the problem

if nothing is loose when you shake it grab a multimeter and test the wires.
