Default Need info on D16 Block

Im looking to get my head built up, and it was suggested to me that I atleast rebuild the bottom end otherwise Id more then likely run into problems very shortly after. Anyone know of a good site where I can order a Performance block for a d16. Id rather not put the money into rebuilding it back to stock if for a few hundred more I can A: buy a whole new block and B: get much better performance out of the block for slightly more. Let me know if you got any built for sale or know of a good site I could look at for some blocks.

according to magazines, you can get a d16 fully built block for $2000, so if you think you could find a used block for maybe 200, and build it at a local shop for urself for cheaper than that, id rather go that route.

youll figure pistons to be ~300
rods ~3-500
misc(rings, gaskets, ect.) ~200 at most

and knowing what you did yourself by atleast piecing it together.

Thanks all good but Id be looking for like boring the thing out and possibly sleeving the thing. When it comes to the block Id rather do it the right and complete way so i dont have to come back to it later on. Which I can put new pistons in and everything, but Id like everything down to the crankshaft done over well.

You would either sleeve it or bore it. If you sleeve it, it should be ready to go.
They are both about the same price.

Make sure you have the pistons you are going to use first before boring it so you can give the machinist the pistons and have them bore the sleeves to fit.

Good luck. Also if using like eagle rods you may have to notch the block. Someone correct me on this if wrong but the H-beam rods are thicker and will need to be notched.
Also there are some places that you can get rod/piston combos for around 750.00 or so.
