Default Battery + underhood fusebox in trunk

Hello-

Is it safe to run longer wires for the underhood fusebox, and relocate it to the trunk? I would use 4ga wire for the alternator lead.

As lons as I used the same ga wire for all the other ones, would it be safe?

yes it will be fine. You can really leave the altenator wire alone. Run 4g to the back and mount your battery. But it will be better to run 4g from the alternator to distrubution block to split it for the battery and the front fuse block

well, as it stands right now I am running 0ga from the battery to the starter.

the starter goes right to (+) and the alternator goes to the underhood fusebox, right? This sentence confused me:

Leave the under hood fuse box where it is.
Have you looked at how many wires you will have to extend, don't forget, how long the leads are will determine gauge of wire needed.

Although 0ga is overkill, it can't hurt, and you have it run properly, [from the relocated batt. to the starter motor] then you should have an 8ga/6ga running from the starter to the fuse box, [where the batt. was connected before]. 94

Yes, that is exactly how I ran it. Right from the battery to the starter motor

I didnt think the starter went to the underhood fusebox at all? Are you referring to the alternator?

I dont mind so much extending all the wires. Are you telling me it is unsafe or just a waste of time? IF I were to do it, what gauges should I use?

Lemme take a picture of the underhood fusebox and make sure I know what I am talking about

The lead you run from the starter motor to the fuse box is to replace the one that ran from the batt. to the fuse box, if you do not do so the batt will no longer be connected to the fuse box. 94
