i just finished my b16 swap in my 89si, im sure all the vacuum lines are hooked up, but when i start the car it idles at 2k, i tried swapping iavc's same thing, i unplugged my map sensor plug and the idle dropped to 900rpm and idles perfect..but since the map sensor is unplugged i get a engine light.. is there something im missing or are both my map sensors broken? (obd1 tb and firewall)

 

You don't need to run both map sensors! Just run the one on the throttle body and plug the line going to the old tb one.

 

thanks for the input.. i finally fixed it. i sprayed some carb cleaned around the fitv and the engine stalled and shut off, so i found an old obd0 b16 throttle body with no fitv attached, put it on and it worked. PERFECT IDLE. ill try ****** with the fitv or get another one i want my bored 66mm back!!!

 

There's a thread somewhere in this forum describing how to disassemble and clean it. It's got some corny title but you should be able to find it.
