I am doing a rebuild on my stock internally B18C1.
Last week i heard some noticable rod knock from 2500 rpm to 3500 rpm

i am planning to do a complete block tear down and rebuild for high compresstion pistons 12.4 to 1

what should i buy besides:

pistons, piston rings, rod bearings, remachine the crank, and oil pump

i want it to be as reliable as possible

whole lot of compression, good luck running 100 octane it drove me insane!!!...anywho umm eagle f*in rods man and rod bolts

 

well i wouldnt do 12 to 1, pr3 pistons are good for daily. for the rod knock check the bearings and reblance the crank

 

if your going with that process i would consider looking for a ls crank, but try to lose the pistons, i believe the ls crank will raise compression, just go lower compression like 11 to 4 and your set

 

Buy a whole gasket kit. Main and thrust bearings are also a good idea.
