LS 5th gear in B16 tranny?
I know I've seen the topic somewhere but I couldn't find it. Anyways, I just got a 90 Integra from my uncle, but the tranny is messed up like crazy. So I was thinkin of gettin the B16 tranny and swap it in. The thing is, I hate the fact that it goes up to 4000 rpm when you're only going 60 mph. I read that you can take the 5th from the LS tranny and put it in the B16 tranny. How easy is it to do so? Thanks for any input.
Very simple man. I have not had a b series tranny apart in 2 years im prety sure u do not even need to take the shafts out.
Ill look at work toady

It's easy. 5th gear is right on top, so all you have to do is remove the shifting mechanism, remove the nut on the countershaft, and then lift the parts straight up off the shafts.
Take a look at the ratios here: http://www.turbols.net/TechInfo/GearRatios.html
You'll probably want either a 3rd gen GS-R 5th (0.787) or maybe a 2nd gen LS 5th (0.742)... the 3rd gen LS 5th (0.714) is pretty long. My turbo LS has a 3rd gen GS-R gear set with a 3rd gen LS 5th and it's too long. Compared to other cars, my 1st-4th is competitive, but I have a real hard time keeping up when I shift into my long 5th gear. For that reason, I'm going to switch my 5th gear back to the GS-R ratio or the 2nd gen LS.

Both of them. They are a set. If you only swapped one of them, it wouldn't mesh with the other gear properly.
