Default Intake Manifold Help 96-98/99-00

Help y0

On a 00 d16y8 engine, a 96-98 intake manifold will work as long as I use a 96-98 intake manifold gasket, correct?

Before you answer, make sure you're aware that the 99-00 intake manifold were changed for emissions reasons.

This (notice gaskets people) is a 96-98 style intake manifold.

This, is a 99-00 style intake manifold.

you will prolly throw a CEL, and have a leak. the 99-00's have AIR Injection ports in the manifold, and if you use a 96-98 gasket, it wont accomodate for those ports. like i said, it will probably have a leak and will probably throw a CEL, but you CAN throw a 99-00 IM on a 96-98 head, if you use a 99-00 gasket and plug the holes in the IM.

Yes it will work. On a 99-00 d16y8 intake manifold there is a large vacuum nipple on top the the flange and since you are using a 00 d16y8 motor, make sure you cap off the other end of that vacuum hose wherever it leads to.

I don't know, but if you search through the diagrams for the vacuum hoses etc I'm sure it will show you where it goes. I think it goes somewhere near the thermostat housing.

youre going to have a leak. and your AIR injection wont work, so i dont know about emmissions. search for it on D-Series.org....i had the same problem, but 99-00 head on a 96-98 motor. you have to seal lthe holes or itll leak.
