Default DIY - 4th gen Black Housing Headlights

Has anyone ever done this with the JDM chrome housing lights before?

If so how difficult is it to get them apart without breaking them?

I did the tail light conversion so I have a little experience with this, but is it really difficult in comparrison?

it would probably be the same as doing a retrofit.

taking it apart-wise. so not hard to ppl who have knowledge of retrofits but maybe a little daunting for those of you who don't

i actually did this. it's just like the taillights as far as taking them apart. once you get it open, getting the chrome part out is really self explanatory. but watch out the chrome part is really fragile. if you've ever used spray paint, i'd say the diffuculty level from 1-10 is about a 2

Theres noooo way I would do that...I tried the red valve cover DIY and I don't like it. So, as far as me cracking open some headlights...I will just buy the black housing ones...The peice of mind and the knowing im not going to fu.ck up on those means a lot to me!

yea, but I am a DIYer. I do everything myself. I really don't think there is anything related to working on a vehicle I wouldn't at least try and do myself. But I am a very mechanical person, I used to be a machinist and now I am going to take the Automotive technician degree program just so I can learn everything I need to about vehicle maintenance. And I am gonna take the 1 year auto body course as well.

Yea, but it won't turn out as clean in the end. You can find chrome JDMs on ebay for $100 shipped all the time. Just gotta keep your eyes opened. I just bought a set the other day for $96 shipped.
