anyone got any idea why this happened? car was running great with the swapped distributor.. started right up!! now it appears the same thing has happened..

car turns over... no apparent spark coming from the wires... just suddenly stopped while driving.

is there anything that can cause a distributor to go bad? something else electrical?

i think something may have blown out both distributors

honda distributors are notorious for having bad control modules internally... So they go bad rather spotaneously... Specially the rebuilt ones like Autozone

did you replace the WHOLE distributor? including the ignition coil? he might of just replaced the cap and rotor.. the ignition coil runs about 80 bbucks.. pulll spark plug out.. hold it in wire.. and try n crank the car.. but have it grounded. if there is no spark then it ost likley is your ignition coil... they tend to take a **** after a while.. just replaced mine hte other day without no problems.

yes the distributor came out of another car it worked...

and it continued to work for awhile in this other car... i cannot throw it back into the other car now because that car has the head off of it right now.

check the resistance of the coil and check the icm too, for proper operation while the coil is still in the car. here is the site http://jdmlyfestyle.com/how_to...m.htm
i had the same problem as you but i got a new distributor from ebay and had everything (worth the money) and it worked after a couple cranks. goodl uck
