Default Stripped the rear camber bolt/threads - torn bushings! What should I do? **Pic**

I should of never removed them in the first place
Anyhow, I replaced the skunk2/OEM shocks with GC/Koni's today and just finished up this morning.

I thought both threads for the camber holes on the rear drivers side were screwed. I went to home depot and picked up a couple of bolts. With the arm out of the way I was able to clean the threads up on the left, but not for the right.

Basically as you can see in the reflection in the mirror, the OEM bolt (on the right) has about a mm gap between the head and shim. I am afraid the bolt is going to snap if I try to tighten it down any further.

I'm thinking about taking the car to a machine shop. What would the machine shop have for options? A) clean the threads, install new OEM bolt B) take the hole up a size/retread?? Any idea how much either one will cost?

Or I could just keep it as is

Here is the trailing arm bushing that is not looking to healthy:

I'm most likely going to replace it eventually after seeing the [url=https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1456600]DIY: Rear trailing arm bushing thread[/ur]

Thanks for any feedback!

BTW >> It's so clean inside my wheel well because I scrubbed the hell out of everything before installing the suspension I'm going to post pics when I do a "How-To"

Happened to me before too.

Go to OSH or somewhere where they sell grade 8 Standard bolt. Bring your current metric bolt. Go find a bolt that is just slightly bigger, try to fine one with fine threads as the bolt inside the chassis is not that thick.

Get the correspond tap for the bolt you got. Tap the hole, without drilling them first.

i would try to save the original threads first with the right tap. if that doesnt work, andrie's tip would be the next step. the final thing you could try is helicoil.

i know hindsight is 100%, but it helps a lot to disconnect the opposite bushing first before tightening or loosening those bolts to relieve any tension from the trailing arm.

Holly crap...i had the exact same thing happen to me same bols and everything. i actually had a larger gap...could not come up with anything...so i drove around the corner to the shop doing my alignment and had them do my alignment...while they were doing it they noticed the gap and fixed it one way or another. nothing really to add i just thought it was weird that happended on the same bolt

ive noticed those bolts strip easily from my experience working on cars at the junkyard. thats why its important to unbolt the trailing arm first.
