Default Drag slicks + Steelies = ?

I want to get some 15" wheels for drag slicks.
However, I don't want to spend much on wheels.
Would 15" steelies be ok for drag slicks? or do they have to be some kind of special forged rims for drag slicks?

Seriously, check out Diamond Racing Rims. They are big in circle track. I priced out 15 x7, 4 x 100--they are heavy at like 19 lbs, but I think $40 a piece in black. You can also get a 13 x 7 or 13 x 8--which I think is only like 13 lbs. $35 to $45 painted silver or black. They look good, I think. And they are steel. I think its http://www.diamondracingwheels.com

I just checked, a bit more than I quoted you--at like $49 to $65 per wheel painted silver or black, they also have them in chrome but they are more money. Look under Mini Stock. 13 x 7 is 13 lbs, $59.

I just found most slicks require 15" rims.

I don't know I just searched on Ebay and most slicks are 15"
are there specific reasons why most ppl run 13" rather than 15"?

More sidewall flex and ebay is not a full collection of all the slicks that are out there. You can call M/H or hoosier direct and they have a variety of slick sizes and can help you pick out the perfect set.

The 22x8 15" slicks is a good first time slick and can be mounted on many 15" wheels. I ran 15" 01-05 Civic steelies with 22x8 MT slicks and got many 1.6 60ft's from them.

*edit* saw you have a Lude, might try a Accord steel rim with a 24" slicks for a budget setup.

I'm not looking to spend a lot since i'm just a beginner.
So I'm kinda looking for used slicks on Ebay.
For example something like this

There are also road racing slicks (like Goodyear Cantilevers 20 x 9 x 13) so you can call these drag slicks. Simple.

At drag events I have attended, I have seen a lot of STOCK (14X5) 14" steelies with 24.5X8X14 MT ET slicks mounted laying down some good times with them too.
