Default C.R. B16A2 head on B18c1 bottom end?

Does anyone know if it will change the compression ration if I put a B16a2 head on a b18c1 block?

it will drop because the b16 combustion chamber is slightly bigger. should be around 9.8:1

So If I were to upgrade my bottom end on my b16a2 what would you suggest for daily driving and reasonable price? What compression would I get with the JDM CTR or ITR pistons on that setup?

wait a second....do you have a B16A or B18C block? you're confusing some of us.

If you have a B16A block, running CTR pistons + B16A head should put in the range of 11.0 compression ratio. If you go JDM ITR pistons it will put you up to about 10.6-7 cr.

I'm sorry, what I ment was If I were using my B16a2 head and changing to a B18c1 block, what would the CR ratio be with the CTR and ITR pistons? Would this be the best way to go? Should I use ITR or CTR rods also? Or should I just buck up for a ITR block?

Right now I've got B16a2 with Comptech Icebox, Skunk2 intake manifold, stage 1 cams, valve train, cam gears, JDM ITR header, CTR N1 crank pulley, test pipe, Skunk2 ecu, and Fields VTEC/Fuel controller. I've dynoed at 171whp with this setup and I'm looking for a bit more torque and around 190+whp.

Thanks, any other suggestions would be appreciated!

with USDM ITR pistons = 10.6:1 (same as USDM ITR) - JDM ITR pistons 11:1
CTR pistons = 11.8:1
B16A PR3 piston = 11.2:1 with a JDM second gen P30 piston 11.4:1

If you get the CTR pistons and some headwork you should be at 190hp. Good luck!

hey im going to be doing that setup, except my B16 head is being portrd and polished by portflow with that should i break 200whp?

complete new setup on my 95 GSR motor:

p/p first gen B16a (PR3) head by portflow
ITR intake manifold
Skunk2 valvetrain w/ stage 1 cams ( already have these cams in my gsr now)
B16 pistons
ITR tranny
TODA flywheel (9lbs)
Mugen head gasket
5zigen header
Carsound cat
2.5 inch exhaust piping
Skunk2 chipped P28

if your compression is like 10.6:1 or anyhting above 10.5 you should break 200 whp with good tunning

What do you think?

- b16b (CTR)head
- b18c bottom
- CTR pistons
- GS-R cams (will up upgrade to CTR or ITR cams soon)
