soooo i got the dealership reflash done to my si to get rid of rev hang and throttle lag. the car drives absolutely beautifully. i love it. but now im noticing when decelerating at low rpm's like 4000 and below there is a very subtle popping noise. u know how like the srt-4 pops on deceleration? its like that except of course it sounds completely different but the same idea. but neways... is this a problem? anyone else experience this?

arent backfires usually loud? this isnt loud whatsoever. its a very soft popping.

Backfire doesn't have to be loud. I believe the loudness of the backfire depends on the amount of fuel not getting combusted. SRT-4's run rich as hell, so it's quite loud. Correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Do you have any intake or exhaust mods? Sounds like maybe you are running rich.

 

I get a little resonation in my stock Si( faintly noticeable "backfiring" at times) but nothing serious.

 

i have an aftermarket cat-back system and i notice the back fire after my reflash. but i like the sound lol don't bug me at all
