Default civic clock reseting...

hey guys i have a 94' civic DX, and i just put a clock in there and everytime i restart my car the clock resets itself, i was wondering if anyone could help me, could it possibly be a fuse or what.....anyways thanks....

its most likely your BACKUP fuse its a 7.5 amp and its in the under the hood fuse box.

yup....sounds like your backup fuse....if im not mistaken your clock always is on at 1:00 when you start your car...

that's funny, because my 7.5 fuse is fine and my clock still does the same.

Make sure you hooked it up to the plug with the 4 wires and not the 3. The 4th wire takes power from the battery to keep time when the car is turned off. I made that mistake when i put my clock in but i realized it when i had to change my guage cluster

what do you mean 4? i mean it's been awhile since i've been back, so i'll have to check. but my car initially never had the clock. found one at a yard and decided just to hook it up. i grabbed the wire harness for it and plugged it up.

how many harness are back there for this?

there should be three harness in there. one for your hazards and two the have the same plug for the clock. Use the one with the additional wire. You'll see what i'm talking about once you get the panel off. Feel around in there and you'll see the wire harness. They should be taped together
