like a dummy i sent my buddy my AT ecu for socketing instead of my manual one...so now i figure my best bet is to do the auto manual conv. on it...is this an easy task,or am i better off just swapping the socket over to my manual...
what exactly is involved in the conversion?
is it something someone with no chipping experience can do?

 

It's a piece of cake. Remove to resistors and add a jumper. As long as you can desolder you're mint. Do you have a link to the pgmfi article on it?

I'll find it. I chipped my first ecu having no background and my car still enjoys running it, so I think you'll be fine.

what would happen if i try to run the auto ecu on my manual car?

 

It'll throw a lockup solenoid code (19 I think) and go into some form of safe mode.

 

is there any way to bypass that?

 

No way I've ever heard of, but someone more clever might know.

 

so the only thing i need to do is move R67 to R68?
