I just got my car runnin and have a issue that needs resolved. First off the clutch and tranny are good, they were working perfectly before I pulled my engiine. My clutch isn't engaging. While in 1st gear the other day I tried to start my car (clutch pedal was down to the floor and system not bleed, nor was it even hooked up actually) and the car jumped forward so I know that everything is capable of working.
I just bleed out my system using the vaccum line on bleeder into cup 1/4 full of fluid. pedal up open bleeder pedal down close bleeder pedal up open etc...
It seemed to work fine, I have pressure in the pedal, but it doesn't feel quite right. It almost feels too spongee or rubbery.
Any ideas?

 

if there was no fluid in the system and you depressed the pedal, then you probably blew out your slave cylinder

 

Quite possible. Or maybe you just missed some air

 

would I have pedal pressure with a bad slave cylinder? Also I hear a noise almost a hum from the tranny area when the clutch is released and it goes away when I press the pedal in.

And another thing, my tripometer is registering miles while the car idles in neutral with the clutch pedal out, and stops registering when pedal is pressed

 

I feel real stupid, the axle wasn't seated in properly and popped out. Oh well at least it drives now
