random question...
why does my car alarm warning chirp go off when a frekin airplane fly's over?? its rEALLY annoying at night. i have to get up at like 3 oclock and walk to the car turn off the alarm lock door with key and have no alarm just manual locked doors. that or just unlock the car from my room in my warm BED that i dont want to get out of, and let it sit fully unlocked. ( just to keep that damn warning chirp to stop)
sooooo..... does anyone know how to fix this problem
p.s. i have NO clue where to look to find out what kind of alarm i have. as i bought the car used

It goes off because of either the "shockwave" as the plane goes over, or the sounds of the plane itself.
Only way to disable it is to remove the shock sensor on the aftermarket alarm to disable it.

I dont know, I have never been too good with aftermarket alarms. I have installed stereos before, but never alarms.

Eh, you may have conflicting arguments about that.
I am by no means a guru of anything, I know just enough to get me by, or get me killed, one of the two.

There's an alarm for our cars stock. But I doubt the sensors for it would be tripped so easily. You might want to see if the power connections to the alarm can be disconnected from the battery. Or take it to a car electronics place and have them inspect it.

your car must be stock, i'd be afraid to leave it unarmed overnight. i rather wake up and know its a plane then anything else.
what alarm is it? it might have some type of sensitivity controller that you can adjust.

i just took apart the thing under the steering wheel and found a little black box that says on guard crime stopper but there was no *** to turn the sensitivaty down...
youre looking for a small black box that only has one, 2-4 wire plug going into it. sometimes it's labeled, sometimes it's not. in some cases, if it doesnt have a ****, it'll have a small trim pot like youd see on a circuit board, youll need a small screwdriver to turn it down.
i never said i installed them
. but everytime they finished a install, lets just say i would know
also my friends have viper alarms on their car. all i had to do was sit next to them, take it to 5k and it would go off.

if your paranoid like i was then go n get yourself a new alarm, i personally like clifford, and get yourself door looks if yours are manual like mine where. once you do that, trust me you will feel really relieved that you have a good alarm, never worry if you locked your doors, and wont have to hear the alarm wake you up because of a plane
and i know the plane wont set it off, because i work RIGHT next to an airport and my car NEVER goes off when a plane flies by.
