an other idle problem
My LS/V idles at 1k, 1.5k, or 2k(whatever it feels like) its a GSR head on a b18b block with ITR pistons. It has NO vacum leaks and i was wondering if you guys have any other ideas. I going to try to get to cleaning out my I.A.C.V. tomorrow. It all started after i raced a LS-T Integra after being tuned. some times it goes up and down a little but usually stays at one point. So yeah... if you guys have any other ideas throw them my way, thanks

Sounds like an IACV/ECU problem. Unplug the IACV and see where it idles and that should narrow it down to an IACV problem or a vacuum/TB problem. Thus, do that, come back and post and we can help you from there.
i just looked a lot closer at my IACV and the lines aren't hooked up to it, i guess the dude that put my motor together didn't think it needed to be, should i hook the lines up or does it not do anything when not hooked up? will try the unplugging thing right now
okay so i unplugged the IACV and the car started to idle like ****, unplugged the TPS and the car almost shut off, but when i unplugged whatever the thing on the firewall side of the TB is it didn't change the idle that much...should it have? any other ideas?
A little help on the IACV, the line goes from the IM to the IACV to the TP to the water neck? I think its called the water neck, if not what is it called?, and does anybody know the part number to the gasket (i need to replace it)

A) With the IACV unhooked the car should idle at about 600rpms (being about to die).
B) When coronadrinker said unhooked he was speaking of the coolant lines
C) The coolant line should go from the connection under the throttle body (which is feed from the side of the head if Im not mistaken) and then runs under the intake manifold to the coolant tube (water tube, tube the runs on the back of the block from the water pump to the thermostat housing/thermostat).
D) Hook up the coolant hoses (to both the IACV and FITV if you have it and if its unhooked) and get back to us. It sounds like the IACV is the cause of your problems.

FITV? what is this... sorry, call me a noob if ya want. Coolant tube, thats the fitting thats on the IM flange.... right? Damn i do sound like a big time noob.
FTIV is a little **** valve on the bottom of the 94-95 throttle bodies, its not there on the newer 96+ models because its a pointless item. Its there to help raise the idle with cold starts but its really worthless and you only need the IACV.
The coolant tube is a 1" tube thats about 14-16"s long underneath the intake manifold.

okay, sorry to keep with the dumb questions but i don't want to f anything up so here is an other 1. where does the fitting that is on top of the TB go to? i thought it hooked up to a coolant line but the guy set mine up to the black canister looking thing on the lower passenger side of the engine bay. Also the "neck" that the upper radiator hose connects to has a fitting that's capped...where does that go to. I have what seems to be none of my lines still hooked up and i want to hook them up but don't remember where they all go that is why i keep asking these questions...sorry
Please continue to help guys I'm getting hella frustrated, i had it all apart then realized i didn't know where ALL the fitting linked up to and had to put it back the way it was twice already
The fitting on top of the TB is a vacuum fitting and it should indeed run to the carbon canister over there by the battery. There should be a small 3/8" (rough size) nipple right behind (towards the firewall) the coolant neck on the head that runs into the bottom of the throttle body (on the FITV) and then the "output" (the other nipple on the FITV) should run to the IACV, then that should run straight down to a nipple on the water tube under the intake manifold (yes, it is a bitch to get to).
One more Q before I go get some Z's. There is a fitting on my intake manifold flange right next to that hose that looks like a horse shoe its capped off right now, where should it be connected to?
Ok sorry, on the LS the coolant feed going into the TB/FITV/IACV comes off the head, on the GSR the one off the head goes into the thermostat housing and the one off the intake manifold goes up to the TB. Heres a picture, just follow the lines to figure out where the hoses go.
Okay hooked up my IACV and now my car idles perfectly smooth @750. So now I have 2 questions. 1: how snug should my throttle cable be 2: what is the plug for that branches out at the same spot th e IACV plug does.
Thanks again 95 Integra
