over-night my battery dies and car wont start, but it starts right up if i jump it' and battery holds the charge etc'

this the alternator taking a crap? If so which model/car do i need to replace it with?

what do you mean if you jump it it holds a charge?
after the car starts you can remove the battery and it'll run.
if your alternator wasn't working then your car wouldn't continue to run while it was on.

the only time your battery is used is when you start the car.
once started its all alternator..

so yeah, your battery sucks

I have heard.. so many good things for the optima.. minus half of them seem to be duds

 

its still under warantee so ill get a fresh free bat, plus i have no clue what kinda abuse the previous owner put it through.....all the bad wiring and all over the car i had to re-do'
