Default help me with speakers and HU please

sorry guys if this has been asked way too many times, im looking for new components for my sound system. i used to install subwoofers for my friends when i was 14 (a couple years back) and now im driving and its my turn. i used to be experienced in the field but the products haved all evolved, so im looking to you guys. all the speakers have lost their surrounds and crack like no other.
basically:
car: 94 4 door integra.
front: 6 1/4 speakers. budget is 160
rear: 6x9 speakers. budget is 160
HU: either single or good double din budget it 300
the components will not be amplified but i will be running two 12's in sealed box (just incase) im looking for good all around sound with least amount of cracking.
thanks for your help

Ditch the rear speakers and use that money towards a better pair of components and an amp..

^^^ Ditto. Leave the rear speakers and have the HU power them. Get a good component set like a JL or Focal.

as far as brands, i have liked the products of alpine and jl as my top 2, although jl seems a bit pricey and i cant find very many places that sell their products.

whats your theory behing leaving in the rear speakers? their cracking can be heard over the music, and i carry passengers so i want them to have good music too.
thanks for your help so far

Amplified rear speakers dimish the overall sound quality of your system. Thats why I suggest having the HU power them so that they are at playing but not drowning out your front door speakers. A good component set for the front doors is a really good investment if you want SQ. If you just want loud then amplify the rear speakers.
