Default Kicker amp and sub compatibility

Ive been loking at a new set-up for my car im already getting a new wiring kit.

Im just wonder if these would work good together

06 kicker 12'' L7
* 12" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm or dual 2-ohm voice coils
* Power range: 50-750 RMS watts
* Peak power: 1500 watts
* Frequency range: 20-100 Hz
* Sensitivity: 87.4 dB
* Sealed box volume: 0.88-2.00 cubic feet
* Ported box volume: 1.75-3.25 cu. ft.

The box that I wuld build would be a 2.5 cf ported box.

06 Kicker ZX1000.1 amp

* RMS Power: 500W x 1 @ 4 ohms
* RMS Power: 1,000W x 1 @ 2 ohms
* THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: <1 %
* Bass Boost: 0 - 18 dB
* Frequency Response: 25-200Hz
* Signal to Noise Ratio: 60 dB
* Efficient class D circuitry
* KickBass 0-18 dB variable bass boost at 40 Hz
* Variable 50-200 Hz low-pass crossover with 24 dB/octave slope
* Defeatable 25 Hz subsonic filter
* High level or low level inputs (125mV-10V)
* PreAmp Signal Transfer (PAST) RCA outputs
* Included remote KickBass control

1. I was just wonder if the amp would be a little overkill for the sub or just right.

2. Should i get the 2 or 4 ohm sub. I was thinking of getting the 4ohm dvc and wire it to a 2 ohm load.

Thanks for the help!

I would get the dual 4 ohm voice coils and wire it to 2 ohms. The amp will probably be fine as long as you don't abuse it. Or you could get the dual 2 ohm voice coils and wire it to 4 ohms as well if you were worried about overkill.
