hey i have a 00 civic si and when i let off the gas in gear or just coast out of gear or even come to a stop my car makes a funny squeaky noise i think it could be a belt but i really dont know can anyone help me with this please??!! thanks

 

sounds like your brakes are going bad.

where is the sound coming from? engine bay.. etc.. etc..

is your a/c on?

More details...where is the noise coming from?

 

no its not the brakesi know that for sure its comin from the engine bay but i dunno where from in the engine bay cuz everytime i get out to look it isnt doing it but im positive its coming from there

if ur in netural and you rev it does it do it..

is ur ac on?

 

yea it does it with the ac on but i think it also does it with it off and sometimes itll do it in neutral

 

check the tensions on your belt, and also make sure your power steering fluid level is good.

 

Well make sure it happens when a/c is off also

yea it does it with a/c off and the power steering level is fine how do i check the tension on the belt its on there tight it sounds like the squeakin slows down as my car slows down

 

Does it do it when you push the clutch in?

 

yea when i push it in and let it out ive been told it could possibly be the throw out bearing could it?

and also since were talkin bout throw out bearings my clutch is goin bad to that might have something to do with all of it i suppose

 

Good time for upgrade

 

the clutch itself shouldnt squeak. Its usually the throw out bearing that squeaks/squeals. When my throw out bearing went bad, I broke a couple fingers on my ACT pressure plate.
