Default Scca Touring class

For scca club racing in the Touring class I was trying to figure out the rule about removing the airconditioning, it seems like you can just pull it out but theres a bunch of stuff about spring rates and roll bars.... i really have no idea why removing a/c would have anything to do with the suspension.

"The factory and/or aftermarket air conditioning system
may be removed, provided that at least the following
items associated with the system are also removed:
compressor, condenser, H.D. radiator, H.D. springs/sway
bars, H.D. shocks, larger tires, engine and transmission
coolers and cooling fans. All duct work, wiring, Freon
lines, valves, evaporators, dryers, and dash controls may
remain. If the air conditioning compressor is an integral
part of the drive system, the compressor may be retained
and disabled."

I'll assume it has to do with cars that have those heavy duty items only when they're equipped with AC. If your car is the same with or w/o AC then it doesn't have HD suspension parts, then it doesn't matter.

But we all know assumption is the mother of all f*ckups, so I'd get an official SCCA answer before you start ripping stuff out.

Ahh, well in that case, you may do so from what I read from the rules. Nothing was changed due to the install of the A/C option on the "Type R" , so you can just pull it all out!
