Default what tranny? sohc ZC or usdm SI

88-91 CRX Si

1st 3.250
2nd 1.894
3rd 1.259
4th 0.937
5th 0.771
Final Drive 4.250

90-93 Integra ZC SOHC (JDM)

1st 3.250
2nd 1.894
3rd 1.259
4th 0.937
5th 0.771
Final Drive 4.250

That's the most common info I find..So from what that says they are obviously exactly the same...but I searched and searched and quiet frankly it's alittle confusing cause so many people say different ****..

All I wanna know is what one would be better for quick acceleration. I don't care about top end or anything..It's just I'm ordering a sohc ZC tomorow and I wanna know if I should get the sohc ZC tranny or my friends SI tranny that he has.. someone who actually knows for sure please answer.

Go with the JDM ZC for acceleration. USDM Si for ease of purchase (can be found most nearly anywhere).

The gearing is the same. The motor is not a BEAST. YOu wont tell the differance in either tranny. The differance is the zc tranny has an intermediate shaft making both drive shafts the same leangth. It is supposed to make a differance in torque steer under hard acceleration, but it doesnt, unless you up your power considerably. The bonus can be that some of them come with lsd. If you can get one with the lsd, then get it, that would be worth it.

Otherwise, meh.

Most places will throw in a d-series cable tranny for under $150.
I once bought 5 dohc zc trannys for $250.
And there really is a mileage advantage to using the jdm tranny compared to a usdm tranny.

You are wrong!

D series bolts up to D series tranny from any year 88-00. It's just, only certain ones work in our cars.

You must be thinking only DOHC ZC head go onto DOHC ZC's.

There are exceptions to this, but it applies a good deal of the time.

There is always acceptions. But it's a 'down to basics' thing. I was just trying to say how you can mate a 95 Si tranny to a D15B2 if you wanted to, you know?
