What are the differences between the two? Im debating of getting either tranny for my d15b into my crx. Any problems that I would run into if I decide to chose either?
Umm, I think the SOHC is just like the US Si tranny, and the DOHC ZC uses an intermediate shaft. If you get the DOHC ZC tranny, make sure you get an intermediate shaft (get some bolts too), and 90-93 Integra axles. You cannot use the Integra intermediate shaft though.
The only problems I could see is with the DOHC and the intermediate shaft, and maybe different spline count. The 88 D series trannies have a different spline count than 89+.
Just to clarify, I don't know for sure about the SOHC ZC tranny, but I'm for sure about the DOHC ZC tranny.

what about the sohc zc trannies? I just need to replace my si tranny because it grinds on 3rd.
I would just look for an Si tranny. Probably a lot easier to find.
I thought most of the D series motors had holes for the intermediate shaft, but I could be wrong. Intermediate shaft is used to help decrease the amount of torque steer by in a way making the axles equal length.
