How can u tell wat kinda tranny this is?
How can u tell wat kinda tranny this is?..i bot a used sohc tranny 16... the guy told me it cx tranny..Can u tell by the vin number? C5B p20

You can never tell the exact gears inside, but you can tell whether it is CX, DX, VX or EX, SI.
On the casing around the diff there will be a circle with numbers and letters inside. It will have either A000 or B000. The B000 is EX, SI trannies that have the shorter gears and bigger bearings. The A000 is either a CX, VX, or DX which have longer gears and smaller bearings.
I only get trannies with B000 since they are stronger and have better gearing.
