Ive always had a dumptube so ive nevr known. But on my friends new turbo setup the wastgegate(with no dumptube) blows the hot gasses literally right on the turbo inlet. He was curious to appx. what kind of hp gains he'll net if he gets a dumptube rerouted out of the engine bay? is there a link to a test or anything?

That is definitely losing power. I witnessed a guy pick up 20Whp on the dyno by making a intake for the turbo so that it would not suck up the exhaust from the wastegate dump.
It was the only thing he could do since he was already at the dyno

just think of it this way, could you run a marathon with someone shoving a hairdyer in your mouth, it wouldnt make you perform well, and you would probably want to die.

your definately loosing power from that. worst case, get a flange with a 2" pipe coming off it and then use like flex exhaust pipe to route down and away from the turbo intlet
