Help i got 96-00 kyb's on my 92 hatch could this be my wheel hop problem??
I've been having serious wheel hop issues in my car i've filled all mounts with polyurethane..Then i just had traction bars installed because they had to change my IC piping around i've been told i need to adjust those but not sure how to get them setup correctly.. I'm running 205-50-15 bfg drag radials..The best i could do was a 2.113 60ft it runs consistent 2.2's lol and this 60ft is holding me back from a possible 11 sec pass..I've tried everything slipping the clutch,dumping it,riding it, launching high rpm and low rpm same result..
The suspension right now is
kyb gas struts in the front
stock struts in the rear
and crappy i believe ebay RS racing coilovers not sure of springrates..
The setup was done by the previous owner, well amid trying to get my traction issues fixed before nopi this weekend coming up i went outside this morning and got the part number off of the front struts they are silver kyb agx part # 341203 and come to find out thier for a 96-00 and my car is a 92 hatch..
What is something decent i could throw in thier before the weekend preferably not over 500 bucks??
Could this be the problem having 96-00 front struts the 92-95 are a completely different part #..
Also the car will wheel hop just has bad if not worse going into 2nd gear..

First off how new are all your suspension bushings? Have they ever been changed since '92? I'd replace all of those with fresh new rubber ones, then i'd look at shocks and springs.
How low are you right now? You could be bottoming out and that would cause some wheel hop.
Something I'd look at for under $500 for the springs and shocks is H&R race springs, and Koni special 'red' shocks. But the bushings and ball joints tie rods etc will put you over the $500 cost. If you want it as solid as possible in the front go with spherical bearings from orijin motorsports.

front dampers are the same for all 92-00 civics. its the rears that have a different lower fork, but otherwise the dampers are the same.
bushings could be it esp if they are worn, but how low are you measured at the jack points? i'm leaning towards that the ebay coilovers you have are crappy springs or not a suitable spring rate.

Well on kyb's site they show 2 totally different part numbers for the 92-95 and the 96-00.. I just need to no asap if i should get new suspension i'm gonna try to get it put on this week and get the car aligned and traction bars adjusted and make some friday night passes before nopi saturday if all goes well..
so thier a identical strut thats what your telling me same height,resistance everything?? If so i'm not replacing them because thats probably not the problem..
how did he make them work if the brake hose bracket is the only difference??

The fender wells sit about even with the tires but it was higher. i just recently let the back down hopeing to stiffin up the rear after this pass time at the track the rear was about 1"-1.5" above the rear quater..
I'm just getting frustrated with this thing i've filled my mounts with polyurethane now everything vibrates..I bought and installed traction bars and thought for sure i had it fixed but after having another ic pipe made i basically dropped another 500 and still have the same damn problem..
I can get spw coilovers would they help thier 600-800 for 60 local??
Or skunk 2 coilover with the same rating i believe for 100 local??
Or another guy local has toxico blues with eibach springs are they decent??
Or i can order something tommorow??
My car feels pretty stiff when bouncing it tonight by pushing down on the fenders..
The coilovers are called RS racing and are yellow springs i can't find them anywhere on the internet..
Could me having kyb's in the front and stock struts in the rear be hurting me??
Also i noticed where the forks come down onto the assembly right behind the wheel that the bushing on both sides of the car in the same exact spot has like a small slit indention looking thing on both sides in identical spots but it kinda looks factory does'nt really look torn,ripped etc..

actually my struts in the front are 96-00 kyb gr2's not agx like was mentioned earlier my fault.. I read on thier site is says not to lower the car more then 1.5" on them and my car is lowered atleast 2" if not more in the front..
My car almost feels like it has no weight in the front when i launch then when i go to 2nd it will burn a wheel and wheel hop just has bad has on the launch in 1st..
