Since yesterday, in every gear at 2500 RPMs the car starts making a clunking noise. It sounds like something is hitting on the exhaust or something like that. WE dont really know what it is. It only does it at 2500 though. It kinda sounds like the flywheel cover is hittting hte flywheel or something. We havnt looked yet, but are gonna tomorrow after my car is fixed, if ever, haha. This is on a freinds car. Let me know any suggestions, thanks.

 

Yeah its my car, its not so much a clunking its kinda a raddle, it does it at around 2.5k rpms not before and not after,

 

hey mike, i think its time you change your signature, and yea, its a rattle.

 

i have the same rattle.. i need to replace a gasket that connects the headers to the cat.

 

Hes got no cat... That may be the problem right there.. He has a JG header, and its run to the exhaust...

 

sometimes not having a gasket can make a weird nosie my car makes the same noise every once in a whiole but i have been f-ing with th4e exhaust so i am really sure that is what is causing the noise on mine!

 

get under your rex and give the pipes a little smack... see which one makes the noise.

 

mine does the same thing when put my new exhaust on?? i havent had the time to get it on the lift it sounds like were the cat an header meet ?? i hate it..

 

but this does it at 2.5k only not before are not after, its weird

 

its because of the sounds waves at 2.5K could be matching the natural frequency of your piping causing it to rattle.
