shifter rubbing help help!!!!!!

shifter rubbing help help!!!!!!
i just got a carsound cat for my 00 teg
the 02 sensor mount on the cat positions my 02 sensor right in between the shifter bars the shifter bar is tightly rubbinb against the 02 sensor.
i can shift fine. its just fairly tight.
most of you guys probably notice that your stick will wobble alittle to the left and right when in gear.
mine used to but now its tight.
should i leave this like this. it doesnt seem like it would hurt anything
do you think the rubbinb will ruin the 02 sensor?
