Well, stock there is a bracket on the front of the tranny just for a ground wire. You probably should add it as well as the VC round.

make sure the ecu ground on the t-stat housing is clean, and you definitely want a battery -> body ground as well as a trans -> body ground, both of these should be 0/1 guage wire......
the valve cover -> body can be 8ga.
