Default At a big decision.. need advice

Alright so im at the point of **** or get off the pot..

I've decided to keep my civic over getting a 350z but I want more power, so obviously an engine swap is called for... what I can't decide is whether to get a gsr and turbo it or get a k20, what I'm looking for is fairly inexpensive but I want good reliability that will last me for the next 4-5 years. Could you give me some suggestions on which would be the better choice with pros and cons of each and what the ultimate final price would be for each.

depends on how much ur willing to spend..

gsr will cost alot less cuz it can juss fit right in without modification..motor price arent that expensive..u culd prob get a jdm gsr for like [4k]

k20 you will need special mounts nd alot of modding costing thousands plus the amount of the actual motor [alot.of.$k]

so including the custom exhaust and special headers id need what would be the total cost of the k20 including motor; everything... i dont want to invest money in a dying breed (the gsr) ... kind of like going out and buying a vhs player

this is really simple, cheap, fast and reliable will never be possible. pick two cuz thats all you will have w/ any Modified car. a K swap isnt CHEAP, nor fast, faster than a stock car, yes, but nothing compared to a boosted GSR. but a K swap is going to be more reliable if done right than any boosted setup thats not stock. go w/ whatever fits the bill best and you will be happy. in my opinion K swap is overpriced, even more so then the B swaps. so either way, have fun.

yeah like you said..you want something reliable right? but it is true you can spend less on a bseries and make it faster...but a reliable daily driver is a factor for you right? k20 swaps are rare. i guess it all depends on how much you want to spend...research the prices man...thats the best advice i can give you

cheap/fast/reliable. pick 2. the k20 swap will be a great power gain but very costly. honestly both will be a nice amount of money. if its done right that is.

Get The K series enough said. It will be more reliable and if, IF you want to turbo it down the road you will have made a wiser deceision instead of the B series

the gsr isn't going to be a dying breed anytime soon so you don't have to worry about that. if you want kseries info talk to the ppl at hybrid-racing.com they were pioneers in the kseries hybrid world.

schardbody- i guess you havn't seen the vid of a kseries hatch racing the white evo?
