If they were the lower (ones that hook LCA to spindle under rotor)
Specialty Products have these trick adjustable ball joints that you can adjust a certain amount of camber.
Good Buy

Might want to check your wheel bearings.....also check your ball joints though, as you really don't want either part to fail( the possibility of losing a wheel while driving is a bad thing )

I know what you're saying about the wheel shaking...I had a similar problem when braking...unfortunately you cant buy jsut the upper joints...you've got to get new upper control arms b/c the joints arent removable...pretty simple install... just get new parts... http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

have you tried having your tires balanced?
If you are noticing a pulsation during braking, you may have excessive lateral runout on your front brake rotors, which means yo **** be waped yo, in a language more people seem to understand (no offense to anyone, just a joke)

Before blaming worn suspension components you might want to have your tires balanced and checked for road force variation, they may be the main contributor of the problem.

or....jack your car up and try to shake the wheel back and forth...if it moves, you know where the problem lies...
