Default Building a D16 for nitrous. Weakest link?

I am getting ready to start building an SOHC ZC (basically just a D16A6) for a 75 shot of nitrous.

I already got a new clutch and flywheel, and an Si tranny ready to go in, so now the motor needs attention.

My plans were: retard timing 2 deg., one step colder plugs, and run race gas when spraying. (Track only spraying, btw.)

I guess the question is, is there any real "weak link" I should worry about before spraying? Pistons? Rods? Rings? Fuel Pump? (I'm running a wet kit, will the FP be an issue?) Say something were to go wrong, what's the first thing that would fail? If I know that now, I can replace it before anything happens, as a security measure .

A good thing to get would be a walbro, either a 190 or a 255, its really up to you. Its obviously going to be pushing the limits of your stock block, but you should be fine. Keep that bottle hot or you won't be happy with nitrous.

Have fun with it, i know i did with mine

weakest link is the piston rings no question. that is the whole reason i am rebuilding and going ahead and getting a turbo setup.

So do they make "upgraded" rings?

it's actualy not the rings that are weak its the ring lands (forged pistons will solve that), and the stock block should have no problem with a 75 shot. (properly tuned of course)

i would say the rods and the rings/ringlands woudl have to be the weak links
good luck on your car

Why would bottle temp cause it to run lean?

That's what I'm thinking. It would just make me run richer, which is actually safer.

Would a larger fuel pump adversely effect normal, everyday driving?
