a/c in b16 hatch?
I think there is an aftermarket bracket you can buy. I used the HASport mount kit, and I have DC headers and the A/C fan is impossible to fit. So if you have some large headers (don't know if the stock jdm will give room), you may want to pay attention to that. Could end up being a costly venture.
I have AC in my B16a I have an aftermarket mount kit, but the 2nd fan was hitting against the exhaust manifold and shorting out. I disconnected it works fine now. You can either use the bracket that comes with your kit, or use a Del Sol bracket, but if you use that bracket you'll also have to use the Del Sol Compressor.
assuming that your car had operational A/C before you did the swap, you have a few options. Some of the makers of the mount kits also make A/C brackets to adapt your stock A/C compressor to the B16 Engine. Such as Hasport, Place Racing etc. I would reccomend buying the bracket from the Co. that made your mounts, because they make the braket work with their mount kit. Others may work fine, I don't know. Or you can do like I did. If your B16 was from an integra XSi and came with the XSi A/C bracket, AND your A/C compressor is the SANDEN. two of the bolt holes will line up with that bracket, I made another bracket to support the rear of the compressor, its not hard, just use a little inginuity. Beats forking out $200 just for a bracket, especially in my case where I had to buy a new compressor as well. The SIR bracket is slightly different and only one of the bolt holes line up. I would not reccomend using this bracket because of poor crank pulley/A/C compressor alignment. It would probably squeal, and chew up the belt being misaligned
Chris
thanks for the info...
i'm going to look at the car sunday and will have to find out what mount kit was used...and yes, it WAS equipped with a/c at one point
