Could bad axles cause the check engine light to come on??
I have needed to change mine for a long time, and now I hear the sqeak and clunck around turns, just went for a smog yesterday and not the lights on. I was hoping the old guy who checked it did not pull a wire or something.
Car runs fine though. If you guys think the axle cant activate it I'lll find a local mech to pull codes and tell me,
Thanks

no a bad axle cannot give a CEL. but if you have ABS it might activate the sensor.

Go to autozone to pull the code. Its free</TD></TR></TABLE>
but definately take it to autozone or any major part store, they'll check it for free.
well, as long as it's OBD2.

No.
Bad axels won't cause a cel light unless they snap off and take out some sensors under the hood.
