I just bought a 90 integra with a b16a obd0 cable tranny. It has a vibration even at low speeds. It's not the engine. Wondering what axle lengths should be. They appear to be new axles. I was told it was the bearings on the diff? It's so bad I don't even want to drive it. I have basically no knowlegde about transmissions except how to take em out and put em in. Any ideas on what this vibration may be??

specifically, check for play at the inner joint.

Great I just have one bolt left b4 I can pull the tranny off. So what axles are supposed to be used with this setup. The 90-93 da axles or from a Del sol with b16a? Also I do know the tranny does have an lsd, do I need to use a special axle for the side with lsd? I guess I'll check the axles for play in a vice, and I can go ahead and put some new rtv on the tranny while I have it out, I always make more work for myself somehow.

OK, I put the car all back together. checked play with the axles. on the side with the intermediate shaft there is a little play, but on the side with the lsd there is definately too much play. I was wondering if it was because the lsd required different shafts or if the bearings on the lsd are indeed bad. I did not put the axles in and dont know what they are from, but they are new.

what the hell? The older b-series axles must be different, because on G3 Integras the driver side axle has a female inner joint, while the pass. side axle has a male inner joint. You can't mix them up or put one side on the other side.

yes they are different then, on the 90-93 they are both male ends and the driver side has full spline going into the the intermediate shaft. The pass. side has a half-spline where it goes into the tranny.
