Default Loud Buzz at 2000-3000

Wondering if anyone has run across this. I have a 98 prelude, base, with about 60k on it. Between 2000-3000 rpm, and most noticed at 2400, there is a strong hollow sound coming from the engine. There is also a small vibration at 2400-2500. Does anyone know what this is?

giving it enough gas is hardly the problem. I have checked the header. The noise and vibration do come from inside the engine.

If it's not the timing belt check the heat shield on the cat.

Do you have an aftermarket header? If so check the flange, it mights be cracked. It is a common problem on aftermakert headers, notable on DC's. I have a buzzing sound at 2700-2800 and this fixed the problem.

Well, I'm not certain on H22 motors, but on F22 motors, Honda did note that there were some resonance frequency quarks at 2500rpm in the header...

Trust me, check the header flange. Its a common problem where the Flange cracks, and that fixed my rattling.

My car started making a strange rattling noise at low rpm right after my timing belt change. What did you go though with your tensioner?

Likely 1.)Timing belt tensioner
2.)timing belt
3.)header

Just like what others have said.

Thanks all. Turned out to be the timing belt.
