alright well my alternator is going bad for sure, the lights dim when at idle and get brighter when you rev or when you're driving. but i want to rebuild my alt so what usually goes bad on them? rectifying bridge?

also my radio seems to only really work when the revs are up,electrical problem maybe or is it the alternator?

 

Try testing the voltage that ur alternator is putting out, ur battery should be around 14.5 volts when ur car is on, if it's not, if it's around 12 volts then it probly is ur alternator. Check ur connector to the alternator, one time my connector somehow popped off and I didn't know it till it died on me. Also check the cable, and check to make sure the belt is pretty firm. Is ur battery light on?

look im not asking to see if it is fucked up i know its bad i got that part already. im justasking what usually goes bad? is it the rectifying bridge? or voltage regulator? cuz i want rebuild mines instead of buying a used one thats gonna take a ****

mind you this is an old alternator that didnt come with the car i changed it after the first one took a ****
