Default Hood pins on seibon oem hood

Ive heard stories of people having problems on the highways with their hoods flying open. Idk if they just have cheap hoods that dont close properly or is this a problem with all hoods. I just got a seibon hood i really am not a big fan of hood pins but if its a safety concern then i will use them. My question is with a quality seibon hood are hood pins a must ?

well hood pins are like insurance. some ppl never have problems and some do (nothing to do with the hood) but its the stock latch.

if i got a cf hood i would get hoodpins although i feel the same as you with the look of it.

The way I see it, if you are retaining all of the stock hood latch parts then why would it fly up? It would be kinda nice to have the extra insurance though. I have had my vis hood for 2.5 yrs and I have had no problems and I don't have hood pins.

because 80 mph winds get under a 20 lbs hood and bend it upwards and put pressure on the stock latch. Pretty common sense to put hoodpins on it, imo.

http://www.hoodpins.com, i want the black ones.

I just bought the nrg carbon fiber ones.. I have not yet installed them but they look like they are gonna be the most discreet ones out there... they will look pretty flush when installed. I would get these if I were you
