Techone HID kits
I'm thinking about buying one or more of Techone HID kits for my parents Hyundai Matrix and maybe for my civic if i get an aftermarket set of headlights.
I want to hear from people that actualy have this kit or have experience with it, not someone to tell me i should retrofit, becouse not everybody have skills or time/money to do it right.
Would like to know Do i need a glare shield or does the kit include one?
Does it only work with projector type headlights or will normal headlights do? - i know
they should have clear headlight cover.
Is there any difference in visibility between 6k,8k,10k and so on or is it just the color of
light?
And please post pics of cutoff

I've never used Techone kits, so I cannot comment on their reliability.
HID kits can be used with boith reflector and projector headlamps. Installs into reflector kits yield better output than stock, but the glare is HORRIBLE.
I've head some horror stories about bulbs failing with cheap aftermarket projectors. Depending on the projector, the beam pattern can still be crap.
Most, including myself, recommend a complete retrofit. This is where you take the OEM projector of one car (S2K, TSX, 3 Series, etc) and modify it to fit in your stock headlights. This will ultimately yeild the best results.
To answer your questions:
- The closer the Kelvin temp of the bulb is to ~4300 (pure white), the brighter the light. Above that you go from white, to blue, to purple, and ouput (lumens) decreases.
- If you're going to use these in stock housings, I'd recommend casper shields and make sure you go with the D2R bulbs to help with glare.
