running a different ecu from the motor

Default running a different ecu from the motor

i was wondering if i run a SI(obd2) in a obd2 98 gsr motor will work.. because i cant seen to get a gsr ecu around here. i want my car out by this weekend.. so the si ecu is my last solution.

I don't think that it will work for you, the Si ecu is OBD2b, and your GSR is OBD2a. There is an extra plug on the Si's harness.

If, you were to get it to work, it would make your VTEC engage at 5600 rpms (or whatever) and your secondary butterfly valves wouldn't open on your GSR intake manifold. (stock GSR is 4500 VTEC, and 5600 butterflies)

well i'm running the gsr in my 99 civic hatch. and using the civic stock harness to wire up the 98 gsr motor.

if you are running a 99 harness then it will work but i dont recomend it get a gsr ecu
