Default Newer Model Civic Radio Install *Question*

I'm familiar with the 94-01 Integras (since that's what I have haha). I'm going to be installing a radio/speakers in my brother-in-laws car this coming weekend and it is a new model Civic EX...I think it's a 2004.

Questions:
- Is the layout of bolts and such the same or similar to the Integra's?
- Are there any tips/tricks that you guys know of that would help this go smoother?

Thanks

2004 requires removing the entire center console. That will expose screws to remove cig lighter panel. Removing that will expose 8mm bolts securing the radio/climate control bezel in place. Then you can pry from the front and push from the back to remove the entire assembly...

As far as speakers go, is it a 2 door or 4 door? Front door speakers are the same regardless... Pull off door panel and remove speaker. Note that these speakers are VERY slim, and there's not much room between the door skin and window...

4 doors have removeable grilles in the rear if I remember correctly, which you can unscrew from the inside the trunk, then remove the speakers from inside the car... 2 doors require removing back seat, side panels, rear deck, etc... Not fun...

Sounds pretty much like the Integras then. Are the screws/bolts that secure the center console easily viewable or are they underneath stuff or hidden from sight?

It's a 2 door.

Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the reply!</TD></TR></TABLE> Actually it's not much like an Integra at all, on a g3 teg all you have to do is remove the 2 8mm bolts holding the HU/pocket in place, done from the back, nothing to take apart.

Get the kit for the car and it will come with directions on how the to take out the OEM HU. 94
