Default Need port length calculated

I know some of you have some cool software out there I need a port length calculated.

I picked up some old 12'' Kicker CompVR's The back of the magnet says C12d Single voice coil 4 ohms. They must be older then 2002 because I cant find the specs for them. IMO they look like just the same kicker comps they have been making for years.

This is the best I could do for specs http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-...l.pdf

I have 1.2CF of air space and I want to use a 3 inch round port. I need the length calculated for I guess 32 HZ sounds good.

Going in my boat til they blow

Thanks in advance!!

I have a killer program but it on my shops computer, And I have to set it up. To really get the right box Your gonna have to find the exact specs on the sub. I tried calling some of my other friends that are in the industry and they say thoses speakers are oldddddddd. lol. Here is a site that can get you on your way. I think your cf is to small for a port. But thats me. But here play with this to I can set up my computer later. http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31

I'd say start here: http://www.diysubwoofers.org/measure.htm. Measure the t/s params and then plug them into winisd to get your port length.

The port length depends on the t/s of the speaker, and not just on the box volume and port size; I don't see how the previous link will get you anywhere near your target tuning frequency, when it doesn't even consider what speaker you have.

I picked up 2 12's for $60. So ya they are old but plastic so an ocasional hit with water wont hurt them. Plus $60 I dont care if they get F up. Website says about 13" I'll try that. I'm not concerned about getting it exact. Once the boat throttles up you can bearly hear it anyway.

If anyone can find the specs on the speaker that would be great.

I ended up putting two, 2inch ports 12 inches long for each box.

If someone can punch that in that would be great also.

Box is already built, I'm still interested in what the program comes up with if anyone has time.

I built the box to fit the boat everything else comes second. The box is a little over 1.1 CF. I put two 2" ports 12" long in each box. Haven't mounted the speaker yet because I am still rubber coating the box.

Any reason you're not resin coating?

Lazy

I just painted it with snow roof. Suppossedly stretches 350%.

If it doesn't work I'll strip it and go with the resin.

If I am ever in salt water these speakers are the last of my worries. I haven't done the inside I'll take my chances. The port is firing forward and its up of the floor. These will go in the back of the boat under the seats.
