Default Anyone ever heard of Eclipse Tipro Subs?

I have an opportunity to buy 2 New Eclipse 15" tipro subs. I know that Eclipse is a good brand, but I have never heard of the tipro line. Supposedly "3000 RMS 5000 Peak. 98 pounds a piece 4 1 ohm voice coils," And get this, the seller claims "at full power two of these make 156.4 dB" Seems a little high to me right? I have not been able to find any specs on them anywhere. Not even on the Eclipse web site. Anybody have any advice?

I have seen the 12, but not in action. It is a very beefy sub. Try emailing eclipse for specs. Someone else told me recently that there were no specs on their site also.

With 6k watts and a pair of 15's, I would be upset not to get mid 150's.

Thanks, Would I need a custom made box for these, something more durable than particle board? What about plexi glass?

You definately want a custom MDF enclosure if you are going to go with them. What are you going to power them with? Sounds like a job for an Arc 4000-xxk

OMG, that thing is a beast. The only problem is the amp needs max power at .5 or 2 ohms since the VC's are dual 1.

I officially hate eclipses site. All you get is a pdf that says 3.5 p-p xmax Are we back in the 90's again? I would like to see proof of that.

ATF that would be great I was looking to get them off of E-bay but the reserve was set and the guy was going to charge me $200 just for shipping. DO you have the specs for them?
